The house was built in 1885 by a master plasterer for himself. This man went on to plaster the parliament buildings in Victoria, BC. The house was purchased in the 70’s by two artists who slowly restored the home installing Mexican terracotta tiles and a painting studio on the lower level with wrap around French windows and opening onto a large veranda. The village has a history of artists and writers calling it home and it is uniquely peaceful. It is a perfect writing or artist retreat.
