Description
The flat is located in the former Schultheiss brewery complex in Kreuzberg (originally the Tivoli Brewery), often referred to as the "Alte Brauerei." The conversion from industrial building to the residential and commercial Viktoria-Quartier (including a grape vineyard, playgrounds, and underground parking!) was finished around 2015. Our doorway is 100 steps from an iron gate that opens into beautiful, forested Viktoriapark, which features a huge waterfall and 1815 monument at the top of the Kreuzberg dedicated to the Prussian victory in the Napoleonic wars. A five minute walk form our door brings you to the Biergarten, "Golgotha" (on the Kreuzberg, get it?), which is in Viktoriapark. Incredibly quiet, yet completely and easily accessible to shops and many restaurants (Bergmannkiez). Lots of young families live here mixed with older folks. It is an amazing community, surprisingly warm and friendly for Berlin, and a lovely place to live.
