Peaceful, airy, beautiful mountainside Colorado retreat

I am a professor on sabbatical from Jan-April 2027. This is our home. It is quiet, peaceful, and beautiful, right at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. The house would be perfect as a writer's getaway with a family, or for visiting nearby universities such as the Air Force Academy, Colorado College, and the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, all of which are a short drive away. The location is perfect for combining convenience and solitude. The neighborhood is hidden against the Rocky Mountains and there are no through roads in the area. This offers a rejuvenating silence and peace. Walk outside to explore open space hiking trails and be immersed in wild forest splendor in minutes. A public park is nearby. Spend time observing the wildlife passing through the neighborhood every day, including deer, wild turkeys, foxes, and bobcats. If you like views, there are vistas of both the mountain peaks above and the city lights below. But at the same time, groceries and necessities are just five minutes away by car, or can be delivered. Commercial areas with restaurants and theaters are 10 minutes away, while downtown Colorado Springs is less than 20 minutes away. A car is necessary for living here. Colorado Springs is a tourist destination with many sights and activities to offer for the entire family, in addition to easy access to the outdoors. Museums, theaters, concerts, and restaurants are downtown, while nearby Manitou Springs is a quaint artistic community built on slopes of the famous Pike's Peak, America's Mountain. The summit of Pike's Peak can be reached by a historic rail car. The Royal Gorge, on the south side of the mountain, is an unforgettable sight. Colorado's many world-class ski areas such as Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, and Copper Mountain are also directly accessible by car or by shuttle. The main floor has a full kitchen with large refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and dining areas. The living room has a piano and sitting areas with views of the city and the neighborhood's beloved rock formations, which look over an old Franciscan convent. The den has a large television and windows offering plenty of light. The master bedroom is upstairs with a king-sized bed and a spacious bathroom with shower, tub, and walk-in closet. There is also a private fireplace and an office area with views of the mountain peaks and passing wildlife outside. There are two childrens' bedrooms upstairs with their own full bathroom. The basement is finished and includes an additional king-sized bedroom and a full bathroom, as well as basic exercise equipment and plenty of storage space. During the winter and spring months there would be no neighborhood responsibilities other than weekly garbage disposal. Colorado Springs will get an occasional snowstorm in the winter months. These can be beautiful, but the driveway is steep and needs to be cleared for safety. There is a snowblower and shovels for the tenants' use, or local snow removal services can be arranged.
