Furnished 3 bedroom 2.5 bath historic home on one of Capitol Hill's prettiest and most friendly blocks. It's a great mix of historic charm, city convenience, modern amenities, and serene outdoor space. Walk to parks, playgrounds, libraries, schools, Nationals Stadium, U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, monuments, museums, and Metro, as well as cool local coffee shops, restaurants, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and historic Eastern Market for fresh produce, original art, and thrifting. Easy access to highways, National Airport, and Northern Virginia. Our 1865 rowhouse is located on a quiet, tree-lined street, with friendly neighbors, just a block or two from the action. The home features hardwood floors (some original) and great light throughout, thanks to skylights and an open flow. The furniture is a nice mix of antique, farmhouse, and contemporary. Our family will be relocating just for the year and we are hoping to find another family who might enjoy this special spot almost as much as we do and take good care of it. Central AC, a small garage (with electric charger), solar power, and three beautiful outside spaces: a side garden, a backyard with deck and patio, and a front porch with chairs and an outdoor fan. Specifics: You enter the house via the front porch/door into a large office/second living space, or through a private side garden. The downstairs features a kitchen that's open to the central passageway, a sunny dining room, cozy sunken living room with a window seat and working fireplace, a breakfast nook / foyer opening to the side garden, and a half bath. The dining room opens to the backyard with an outdoor sofa and chairs on a back deck, a stone patio with outdoor dining, and a planted area with a fountain, all under the canopy of a evergreen tree. There is a door to a small garage, with an electric car charger. Upstairs in the house, there are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms: one huge, with Velux skylights with blackout blinds, and room for a couch, desk, and bed; the second has a wall of built-in bookcases and a small, updated en suite bathroom; a smaller third bedroom has a sunny study nook and loft bed; and there is a second full bath on the hall. High-speed internet, utilities, and monthly yard maintenance included.
