An open, bright, spacious feeling, two bedroom, two bathroom home with den situated on a cliff viewing the ocean in British Columbia. About 1400 sq ft, hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, and recently renovated. There is a king sized bed in the Master Bedroom, a queen sized bed in the second bedroom, and a desk with a bright window in the den/office. Big windows capture the ocean view from the kitchen, dining area, living room, and master bedroom, experiencing the splendid cedars, fir and arbutus trees. Imagine a classy treehouse. Watch the boat traffic go by as you sip a beverage on the large covered deck nestled in the rainforest. On cool nights you can sit by the crackling fire with a beverage or snuggle on the sofa with comfy blankets on the big deck overlooking the ocean. This home is more geared for adult guests due to the the physical challenges of a cliff, large open deck, fish pond, and elements in the yard that are not children friendly. Older children would be fine. Feel the healing energy of this gorgeous Gulf Island home that has all the amenities you could want including a hot tub all while being surrounded by forest and wildlife. Strong wifi, and television, as well as games, cards, books or puzzles to keep you entertained if you are wanting some relaxation. An amazing network of hiking and casual biking awaits you on this island. There are three provincial parks, a few regional district parks, and hiking trails that run end to end on the island. This island has many artisans, farmers markets, and musicians. Come for a bit, stay for awhile!! Cleaner can be supplied. Five minute to the ferry that is a 20 minute ride to Nanaimo where you can find Vancouver Island University and all the major shopping you might require. Enjoy the splendid, amazing sunsets, endless walking/hiking, all the amenities you need including some fine restaurants and many great residents. Did I mention how great the cultural world is here? If you value cleanliness, peace, a chill vibe, and enjoy being in the country this might be for you. The home is on rain collection only (there is no concern with water - it’s the coast and we have 8000gallon storage). It has an extensive filtration system so all water is potable, septic system that is in top notch shape and the house comes complete with heat pumps in main area and bedrooms that is complemented by wood heat to make it even cosier. (A small amount of wood will be available). Sorry no dogs , we have just had fresh hardwood floors installed, and my husband is allergic to dog hair but cats are okay (a pet deposit may apply). Gabriola Island is a 14 km gem, rich in forested trails perfect for hiking and casual biking. Towering cedars, fir, and maple trees, along with lush ferns, create a vibrant west coast landscape. At low tide, Gabriola’s signature sandstone shoreline reveals intricate formations and naturally “grippy” rock—perfect for exploring. Spanning approximately 57.6 square kilometres (about 14.5 km long and 4.5 km wide), Gabriola is often compared in size to Manhattan—though the pace here is far more relaxed. The island has a thriving creative community, with over 70 artist studios to visit—an opportunity to take home a truly unique piece of Pacific Coast art. Enjoy relaxed island living with a selection of local restaurants, cafés, and shops just minutes away. Outdoor exploring: The Gabriola Land & Trails Trust offers an extensive network of scenic walks and hikes across the island - we have left a few maps that outline the trails. On the water: Beautiful, varied beaches and shoreline—perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding, our favorite is Whalebone Beach and Twin Beaches - depending on tides on when we want to swim.

Comments: Located on a gulf island a 20 min ferry ride from Nanaimo and within an hour drive of Victoria, an hour ferry ride to Vancouver. Peaceful, oceanview, and forest make this an amazing retreat.
Comments: Living on a gulf island is not only beautiful, peaceful, and is full of artisans and musical events, but also can have challenges with occasional power outages, or ferry challenges. Our home has a rain collection system that works well.
Comments: We recently had new hardwood floors installed so dogs, cats are permitted, this home would be suitable for older kids, this would appeal to someone who appreciates living on a piece of property and can use an axe, clean a gutter, and use a blower.
Pick up is from a rural box so once or twice a month would be fabulous.
Occasional watering in the spring as it warms up, most is on a timer.
Comments: We have a koi pond so an occasional handful of fish food, and perhaps a pump cleaning occasionally might be needed. Since we do rain collection ensuring the gutter close to the downspout remains open for flow is greatly appreciated.
