Comfortable house with large yard, plants and trees, in quiet neighborhood

Description

We are applied academics, who spend part of the year at our home in Amherst, and part of the year overseas working with community development programs. The house is small but cozy and comfortable, with expansive front and back lawns, bordered by extensive trees and bushes. The neighborhood is very close to downtown Amherst and Northampton and their respective universities, and is peaceful and full of friendly people. Conveniently located and very close to local shopping, dining and cultural activities, and also only minutes away from countless nature trails and hiking opportunities, including forests, mountains, lakes and rivers. We are currently completing an addition to the house, overlooking the back lawn, which significantly extends the kitchen and dining area. This will be finished well before the move-in date of October 1.
