Furnished Garden Cottage Near UCSC, Downtown, and the Beach

About the house: Bright, fully furnished 450-square-foot guesthouse in a quiet residential neighborhood near downtown Santa Cruz. The cottage has two separate bedrooms, one with a full bed and one with a twin bed, making it a good fit for a visiting scholar, traveling professional, couple, single guest, or small family. The unit includes a full kitchen with cookware, dishes, and appliances; a full bathroom with a walk-in shower; fast Wi-Fi; a dedicated desk; and a comfortable living area. Linens, towels, utilities, and internet are included. Guests may also use the washer and dryer in the main house. The landscaped backyard is part of the rental and includes a fountain, outdoor seating, and an outdoor shower. A private garage parking space is provided. The location is highly walkable: approximately 10–15 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz and about 20 minutes to the beach. Restaurants, cafés, grocery stores, farmers markets, bookstores, and local shops are all nearby, and UCSC is easily reached by car, bike, or bus. The cottage is fully equipped for a comfortable short stay with silverware, dishes, a TV with Netflix etc. No pets. About us: I am a UCSC professor and my wife is a human rights researcher. We have two young daughters and live in the main house (this is an ADU/guest house). We are not looking for long-term rentals at this time but are on vacation August 25-September 6 so we'd be happy to rent it during that time, and also could do a few days or a week during the fall semester. Also interested in potential home exchanges for an actual sabbatical-length period of time in 2027-2028.
