I am an academic offering my own 90 m² apartment for a temporary sublet while I am away for my postdoctoral research. This is a much-loved and carefully maintained home rather than a commercial rental, and I hope to find a quiet, responsible tenant who will look after it with the same care they would give their own home. Located in Büyükdere, Sarıyer, the apartment is in the same residential neighbourhood as the Koç University Faculty Residences at Taş Mektep, and is also not far from Istanbul Technical University Maslak Campus and Bogazici University. It is approximately 300 metres from the Bosphorus waterfront. The area is safe, peaceful, and especially well suited to those seeking a calm environment for research, writing, or rest. The private balcony offers a beautiful open view across the water and green hills, making it a lovely place for morning coffee, reading, or watching the changing light. The apartment was completely renovated approximately three years ago. It has two separate bedrooms, each furnished with a double bed, as well as a bright and comfortable living area with an open kitchen and dining space. All major kitchen appliances were purchased new as part of the renovation, including the stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. The kitchen is fully equipped for everyday cooking and longer stays. The bathroom has a bathtub with a shower, and the apartment also includes a washing machine and dryer. Warm herringbone parquet floors, wooden details, and a small collection of vintage furnishings give the apartment character and the welcoming atmosphere of a genuine home. Quiet and light-filled, it would make an ideal writer’s haven and is particularly well suited to a visiting scholar, researcher, academic couple, two colleagues, or a small family seeking a peaceful base in Istanbul.
