We would like to extend a warm welcome to those with an adventurous spirit, for we live in unusual conditions in a duplex on top of a hill, minutes away from McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences. Although we are technically in the town of Dundas, with a ravine in our backyard the wildlife abounds. Just this past year, we have seen deer, foxes, groundhogs, rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels (both grey and red), mice of course, and birds, including turkey vultures and woodpeckers. We see many different types of insects as well. With so much nature around us, it is a very unique experience in the middle of a town, but close to McMaster University. While we will be living in the smaller side of the duplex for parts of the year, there is an expansive, sunny side that longs to be occupied. With spacious rooms and corresponding large windows, nature is very close. From the windows you can see the Niagara Escarpment, downtown Dundas, Sydenham Creek, as well as forests of trees. We feel that our home would appeal to not only visiting professors and researchers, postgraduates, and healthcare professionals, but to their families as well. We offer a fully-furnished home meant for those who are visiting on a temporary assignment or who are relocating. We are looking for tenants who will treat our home with care while enjoying the space and freedom our space provides. A short walk downhill is downtown Dundas, which is bustling with interesting and unique shops, a grocery store, a dollar store, banks, a library, art gallery, doctors' offices, and health care clinics. There is a Farmers' Market, Studio Tours, and Pottery Shows. The Dundas Driving Park contains the Dundas Tennis Club, basketball hoops, baseball diamonds, the bandshell, winter skating and summer splash pads, play areas for children, lawn bowling, an annual craft show or two, and a weekly Tuesday-night concert. The Driving Park is a gem in our little town, and it happens to be located at the end of our street! Further downtown is the Dundas Museum, which holds rotating exhibits and events. The Carnegie Gallery sponsors Gallery Showings and Events. There is much to see and do. The indoor swimming pool, skating and hockey arenas, Community Centre, Dundas Little Theatre, and even the neighbourhood churches are all within walking distance. The neighbourhood schools are active in our community, with bussing available for the schools on the edges of town. Our restaurants bring people from out-of-town. Trip Advisor lists a diverse collection of restaurants in Dundas: "from fine-dining French fare and contemporary bistros to cozy Lebanese spots, upscale pubs, and artisanal coffee shops," We have specialty food stores including Picones (fruit and vegetables), Cumbraes (meats, cheeses, and spreads), and Pinbones (selling seafood). There are several waterfalls and numerous hiking trails a short drive away. McMaster University is a 5-minute drive or a 45-minute walk. Living in Dundas allows you to be as busy or meditative as you wish to be. Comments: We welcome various lengths of stays, starting at 4 months. Please note that we live at the top of a hill. Although the driveway clearing service is automatic through the winter months, you would be responsible for clearing your stairs from snow.

Comments: We are on top of a hill with wonderful views out of all of the windows. On sunny afternoons, the bright sunlight cascades into the living room, creating warmth. We are a 45-minute walk or 5 minute drive to McMaster University.
Comments: While the utilities are included in the rental rate, the cleaning service is not. It is scheduled for every 3 weeks, and you would be responsible for payment. There is a tv screen that is hooked up to wifi.
Comments: We do have several sets of stairs, inside and out, so young children would need to be monitored closely. There is a sandy area in the backyard, which is suitable for young children. The Dundas Driving Park, close by, has playgrounds for children.
We would need your help in collecting mail and some deliveries when we are not home. The mailbox is located at the foot of the driveway, so mail would need to be carried into the house and set aside for our return.
Our home is situated on two aces of lawn and garden. If gardening is something that brings you joy, you'd be welcome to contribute to the garden upkeep. Raking leaves in the fall is a good workout!
Comments: Living at the top of a hill is not for the faint at heart. During the winter months, it can be a challenge to get up and down our driveway, even after it has been plowed. If you are up for adventure living, this is the place!
