This is a great house for creatives, writers, or really anyone who wants to be close to the city while still having a quiet space to come home to. And it comes with some history — the house originally stood in Chavez Ravine, where Dodger Stadium is now located, and once served as the neighborhood's brothel (to this day, it still has several "extra" doors as a remnant of that past). When houses were relocated out of the area in the 1950s to make way for the stadium, this one made its way to its current home in Glassell Park. Some other details about the house... The kitchen is completely updated and comes fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and ice maker. A breakfast bar with two stools provides a casual spot for breakfast or morning coffee. Essentials are included, making move-in simple and convenient. Both bedrooms include queen beds, nightstands, curtains, and very large closets with ample storage. One bedroom also includes a TV. The bathroom features a clawfoot tub with a shower, a single vanity, and starter toiletries. The laundry area includes a washer and dryer, an ironing board, and even a small vacuum for added convenience. There is a dedicated office space with a view onto the rear redwood deck, ideal for working from home, creative projects, or studying. Outside, enjoy the fenced front yard with patio seating, a picnic table, and a fire pit, creating a great setup for relaxing evenings or weekend gatherings. My husband and I are both creatives, he's a landscape designer and painter, and I'm an interdisciplinary artist. Our home is an extension of our own art collection, with every piece made in California. Having lived abroad for ten years ourselves, we know what it's like to visit a place that doesn't quite feel like home. That's why we hope our house offers a warm, relaxing welcome to anyone coming to Los Angeles for an extended stay.
