As I'll be spending a year abroad in Paris, I am looking for someone to take over my bedroom in my 2-bedroom shared flat. About the apartment: It is a spacious, light-filled apartment in the heart of Berlin Mitte, with a rare combination of central location, greenery, and calm. The apartment has wooden floors, large windows, and a peaceful atmosphere throughout. The shared living space is the heart of the home: a large open kitchen and living room with a fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher, washing machine, and everything needed for cooking. The living room has comfortable designer furniture, a Marshall speaker, a smart TV, and a large personal library that extends through the long hallway. You are very welcome to enjoy the books during your stay! From the kitchen, you can step onto a quiet balcony overlooking a private green garden, with a table that is perfect for working, reading, or having meals outside. There is also a hammock in the garden, a lovely place to relax with a book. The apartment is next to a quiet park, so despite being in central Berlin, it is surrounded by greenery and receives lots of sunlight. The private bedroom overlooks the peaceful park and is filled with natural light throughout the day. It has a comfortable low bed, a wooden desk ideal for reading or working, a warm carpet floor and a large wardrobe with plenty of storage space available to guests. The bedroom is located next to the bathroom, while my roommate’s room is at the other end of the apartment, giving the bedroom a great sense of privacy. The bathroom is shared and includes a bathtub. My roomate is a very quiet and respectful person. She works at a literary institution in Berlin and is often away during the day. She enjoys a calm home environment and usually retreats to her room in the evenings. This is a home for someone who appreciates books, culture, quiet mornings, green spaces, and a comfortable place to truly experience Berlin. About the neighbourhood: The apartment is located on a beautiful street in Berlin Mitte, one of the most central yet atmospheric neighbourhoods in the city. Although you are surrounded by everything Berlin has to offer, the street itself has a surprisingly peaceful and residential feeling. My street has a special charm, with a mix of old Berlin character, cafés, local businesses, and cultural spaces. Right below the apartment is a beloved neighbourhood café with a sunny terrace where locals gather for coffee and German food throughout the day. Along the street you will find everything you need; a large supermarket, a small Vietnamese convenience shop, an old school Berlin bar, cultural venues hosting concerts and performances, and a wonderful mix of restaurants - from Italian and Korean to Vietnamese and Indian cuisine. The neighbourhood is perfect for people who enjoy both city life and quiet moments. Right next to the apartment, bordering with the private garden, is a beautiful public park with a playground, table tennis tables, and places to relax in the sun. There are many options for yoga, Pilates, fitness, and swimming nearby, as well as some of Berlin’s best cinemas and bookstores. My favorite bookstore, Ocelot, is only a short walk away. Culture lovers will feel especially at home here: the famous Babylon Cinema, Volksbühne Theater, Museumsinsel, Hamburger Bahnhof, and the banks of the Spree are all walking distance. It is a 20 minute walk to Humboldt University and a 5 minute bike ride. Transport connections are excellent. Rosenthaler Platz U-Bahn station (U8) is only a five-minute walk away, making it easy to reach all parts of Berlin. Nordbahnhof S-Bahn station is also about five minutes away. Freie Universität is a 30 minute train ride away. The neighbourhood offers one of the best combinations Berlin has to offer, a lively cultural area full of life, paired with a calm street where you can come home, open the windows, and feel surrounded by greenery.
