Apartment/Room: A bright, furnished room on a 12 floor of my Hell's Kitchen apartment. The room is comfortable and spacious, with everything you need to make yourself at home: two large wardrobes, a couch that unfolds into a bed, plenty of storage space and shelves, a flat screen TV, and a coffee table in the room. Shared fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Building: The apartment is in a well-maintained elevator building that was built about 14 years ago, so the building and its amenities are relatively new. There are dedicated mail and laundry rooms. The community’s front desk is located in the neighboring building, where packages can be delivered and held for you to pick up at your convenience. Location: The A/C/E subway station is just two blocks away, while the M11 bus to uptown stops right on the corner. The crosstown M42 bus is two streets away, and Times Square is about a 12-minute walk. You’ll also be surrounded by everything that makes Hell’s Kitchen such a great neighborhood. There are tons of excellent restaurants, cafés, and bars within walking distance, as well as a supermarket just down the street and a pop-up farmers market with fresh produce. For anyone who enjoys being outdoors, the Hudson River Greenway is only two blocks away—perfect for a morning jog, an evening stroll, or a leisurely weekend bike ride. The apartment is also a short walk from the southern end of The High Line, making it easy to enjoy one of Manhattan’s most unique outdoor spaces. Me: I’m a professional in my 40s. I typically work from my office in Union Square, although I occasionally work from home. Outside of work, I enjoy trying new restaurants with friends, escaping the city to go mushroom picking, and going to the opera, ballet, and Broadway shows. I also enjoy biking when the weather is nice and skiing in the winter. I occasionally have a friend over for dinner, but I don’t host parties. I value having a clean, comfortable, and peaceful home and usually do a light tidy-up every few days to keep the apartment looking nice. I also have a cat, so cat lovers are especially welcome! If you enjoy having a friendly feline curled up next to you, you’ll probably feel right at home here. You: I have been successfully renting this room to NYU and Columbia students and looking forward to expand the relationship to faculty. I’m looking for a considerate, responsible roommate with a full-time job and a stable source of income. Since we’ll be sharing a home, it’s important to me that we respect each other’s time, space, belongings, and privacy. I’m hoping to find someone who is clean and respectful, enjoys a peaceful home environment, and understands the importance of good communication. If something comes up, I’d like us to be able to talk about it openly and comfortably rather than let things build up.
