We're a creative couple (he is a writer, she is an artist) and the house is filled with art and books. We've created an artist studio in the garage, and the office also includes an impressive CD collection and a Yamaha Clavinova digital piano. The house features vigas and wood ceilings throughout, and brick floors with radiant heat which keeps it cozy through the winter. The two bedrooms are in separate wings, and each has its own full en suite. The master bath has a two-person Jacuzzi tub, double vanities and a separate shower. Both bedrooms and the office have access to a covered portal with views looking west to the Jemez Mountains and gorgeous sunsets. The master has a king bed and the second bedroom a full-size Murphy bed. The open plan great room spans the width of the house, with a large kitchen, large living room, and ample dining area (the table can seat eight). Windows on three sides look out on the Jemez Mountains. The kitchen features an enormous central island, granite countertops, stainless steel Jenn-Air appliances and generous cabinet space. Microwave, blender, coffee grinder and a large assortment of dishes and kitchenware are included. The bedrooms are carpeted and since we share our home with our beloved Labrador, there are some stains which we've done our best to eliminate. The back yard is fully fenced with dog door access from the laundry, and we would consider allowing a well-trained dog for an additional security deposit (sorry, no cats). The La Tierra trail system which features 25+ miles of dog-friendly hiking/biking trails can be accessed from the top of our driveway. Santa Fe is famous for its livability, history, and culture. Our house is 15 minutes from downtown restaurants, museums, and stores, yet set in nature. We are at the end of a short gravel road adjacent to 20 acres of undeveloped woodland. Winter sports include downhill and cross-country skiing less than an hour away, while the city itself receives only occasional snow, allowing for year-round hiking and biking. The historic Plaza and surrounding businesses put on a dazzling display of Christmas lights that attract visitors from all over.
