About us: We are going to be away on sabbatical in the Winter semester. We love our home -- it has historical features but is also fully renovated and very comfortable. We are hoping to find a couple or small family that will enjoy it -- but also take care of it. House: The main floor has a living room, a large dining room, a new kitchen, and a powder room. On the second floor there are four bedrooms of equal size. Bedroom #2 has a large closet. We use the other two -- one with a bay window, the other a large terrasse -- as our studies. There is a newly installed bathroom with a walk-in shower. The half-finished basement has a comfortable guest bed, an antique, working bathtub, and the washer&dryer. We have a grand piano and two electric ones -- you would be welcome to gently use them. Location: We are within easy commute to all Montreal universities, with Concordia and McGill the closest. Our street is friendly, leafy, and has low traffic. Less than two blocks away is Monkland Village, a family-friendly, trendy commercial area with drugstores, banks, excellent specialty food stores, cafés, bakeries, restaurants, and services. A block in the other direction, Sherbrooke Street has more restaurants, cafés, second-hand bookstores, and patisseries. NDG Park, just a block away, has a cross-country ski trail, and outdoor skating and ice hockey rinks. Public transport: Several bus lines within minutes. Villa-Maria and Vendome metro stations are both a 12-minute walk away and will take you downtown in about 20 minutes. The metro connects to the rail system. Trudeau International Airport is about 20 minutes away by cab or a dedicated bus accessible by metro. More: Montreal is famous for its rich culture, and its museums, concert halls, and theaters, all easily accessible by public transport. If you will have a car, there is easy, free parking on our street.
