Lovely lakeside apartment in Tampere, Finland!

Description

We’re an academic family, and we live in Dublin for most of the year. This apartment is our base for the summer, which we generally spend in Finland. The apartment is ideal for a couple or a family with one child. It is a generous size, with a large living space which can be used as a mixed living/office/bedroom depending on the needs. In summer all four of us are based there, so we can set the place up for that easily, but it would be more comfortable for 2-3 people. We have a south facing balcony which lets a lot of light into the place and the apartment is surprisingly private. Transport to the University could not be simpler: there is a tram stop 2 minutes from our door, and it stops at the University 12 minutes later! It is also easy to bike from our place to the uni. The kitchen and bathrooms are newly renovated (late 2021). There is a sauna in the apartment (of course). We have lovely unobtrusive neighbours and the area is quiet and peaceful, especially in the evenings. Access to the lake is easy on foot, about 3 minutes from the apartment, and there is a lovely beach that is very safe for small kids. Our neighbours swim in the lake until November, usually. When the ice comes in February you can even ski across the lake! The city centre is approx 20mins on foot, < 10 mins via tram and you can easily access the hospital, the uni, and main shopping centres by bus or tram. No need for a car, and in fact we never use one when we are there. The neighbourhood is just on the edge of the inner city, and the big local attractions are Pispala, Pynikki Forest, and of course the local amusement park at Sarkaniemi. For prospective tenants, we are looking for people who want to live in Tampere for a number of months, and who will respect our lovely family home, while they enjoy all that is good about living in Finland!
