Description A studio in a classic brown shingle on a quiet residential street, right in the middle of the North Berkeley neighborhood aka Gourmet Ghetto. Hardwood floors, a separate eat-in kitchen with a gas stove and oven, and a private deck off the kitchen for morning coffee or dinner outside. The Cheese Board and Chez Panisse are two blocks away, Live Oak Park is a five-minute walk, and UC Berkeley and North Berkeley BART are about ten blocks. Best for people who'd rather cook and walk than drive. The space The main room has hardwood floors, a double bed, and a sitting area with a a day bed that doubles as a couch and bed. The kitchen is its own room, with a full gas range and space to actually eat at a table. The bathroom has a bathtub. Wifi runs around 338 Mbps, which has been fast enough for guests working full-time from the kitchen table. Most guests stay for the semester or summer. Other things to note. A few things so there are no surprises. It's a true studio: the bed is a double and it's in the main room, so it suits one person or a couple who don't mind sharing one space. It was built in 1908 which means charm but comes with floors that creak, and the occasional sound from neighbors. There's no A/C (rarely if ever needed) washer/dryer and no off-street parking.
