About this space: Nestled in one of San Francisco’s most charming, quiet, and safe neighborhoods, this spacious, light-filled retreat offers a perfect home base for your Bay Area sabbatical. From the moment you arrive, you will feel welcomed by the warm, relaxed atmosphere. This is an ideal location for your sabbatical: you will be close to a multitude of educational institutions, including UCSF, San Francisco State, and the University of San Francisco; you will also have access to UC-Berkeley, Stanford University, Santa Clara University, and San Jose State University. It is a 20-minute drive to SFO airport, and proximity to highways makes it easy to get to other parts of the San Francisco Bay Area. You will have that rarest of luxuries in San Francisco: free off-street parking! But if you don’t wish to drive, this home is in one of the most central locations in the city: you can stroll to Golden Gate Park which is less than 2 blocks away and explore all the vibrant neighborhoods and scenic spots on both sides of the Park with ease; hop on the N-Judah streetcar to downtown (connecting to BART and Caltrain), Oracle Park or the beach; take the bus to the Golden Gate Bridge. The house is steps away from the famous Irving Street restaurant corridor with some of the best restaurants and bakeries in town and several excellent grocery stores. The home: This large (approximately 1800 sq. ft./165 sq. m), bright, and thoughtfully-furnished home features 2 bedrooms, one office, and 2.5 baths. It comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests with a King bed in the primary bedroom and a Queen bed in the second bedroom. Each bedroom has a desk and office chair, a large built-in closet, and a chest of drawers. The sunny office, which overlooks the backyard, has a desk, office chair, and bookshelf, and is perfect for working from home. The spacious, light-filled living room has original hardwood floors, fireplace, period details, and enormous windows. This room invites you to relax with two sofas and a flat-screen TV. Beautiful french doors open into a large dining room. The modern kitchen has a nook to enjoy breakfast and is fully equipped for preparing gourmet meals: it includes three types of coffee devices, a dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, microwave, and a 4-burner cooktop and oven.   Amenities include: - Fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances - Washer & dryer - One designated off-street parking space - Smart TV - High-speed Wi-Fi Guest access: This is the main floor of a two-unit home. You will have access to the entire upper floor of the house, and to the washer and dryer in the garage downstairs shared with the downstairs unit. An interior stairway leads from your unit down to the garage level. Two lockable doors separate your space from the downstairs apartment for added privacy. One designated parking space is available in front of the house. Parking is side-by-side with the owner's unit downstairs (please refer to the house photo for reference.) Please note: ● To access the unit, you will need to walk up at least 12 stairs from the street level. ● Please reach out to us if you wish to bring children to live in the house. ● The apartment at the garage level has exclusive use of the backyard. ● The N Judah streetcar runs half a block away and passes approximately every 10 minutes until around midnight. ● Out of respect to the residents of the downstairs unit and our neighbors, we request that you observe quiet time from 10 pm to 7 am. ● No pets allowed.
