The Guest House is located on Bowen Island, a short ferry ride from the Mainland and Vancouver. Bowen Island is part of an island complex that stretches north to Alaska. With its heavily indented coastline and fjords this area is known world wide for its magnificent yachting and kayaking experiences. Whales, otter and seal lions are at home here. Situated as it is with proximity to the metropolis of Vancouver, Bowen island is at the same time, a rural area where mountains and forests dominate the landscape. The north part of the island points towards the mainland mountains and Vancouver slightly to the east, and is the location of the ferry terminal and a complex of restaurants, shops, and community services. The Guest House is situated in the southern part of the island in a sequestered forested area that offers privacy and seclusion. It is a short 5 to 10 minute walk to the seashore that looks out across the inland Salish Sea to the large and long Vancouver Island which protects the mainland and Vancouver from the open Pacific. The semi-private beach is a setting for swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The Guest House is ideal for persons seeking a quiet natural setting away from the bustle of the city, yet close enough to enjoy its life, amenities and work opportunities. For the writer and researcher, University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University offer excellent library service. Known affectionally as “Silicon Valley North”, and one of the most livable cities in North America, Vancouver, is a big draw for remote tech workers, hybrid digital nomads, and elite global tech firms seeking to establish satellites offices. The Guest House is a fully furnished two story stand alone structure with a queen size bed upstairs and a pull-out double bed sofa downstairs. The house can easily accommodate a single person or a couple upstairs and two children under 10 downstairs. It includes wifi, a full kitchen, a bathroom with a shower and free parking.
