There is a reading loft with Japanese futon, pillows, tatami mats that can be utilized conditionally as additional sleeping space. There is an uncomplicated pocket bed that is a couch during the day and pulls out into a queen size bed. Linens are high quality natural fiber. A large table co-functions as dining table and work station. There are re-wired, antique french lights that can be pulled closer to your work or further away for ambiance. Kitchenette is functional. There is two burner induction cooktop, compact oven and fridge with freezer, plenty of cupboard space. Overall, storage is considered and there are options for additional storage. The space itself is designed for minimal, but effective storage. Bathroom has a handmade tile standing shower with clerestory window for indirect outdoor lighting. A tiny sink, shelf space, medicine cabinet, venting fan. THE ENVIRONS The apartment is above a workshop space. Herein lies opportunity for expansion of/execution of ideas. There are drafting tables, an industrial flatbed sewing machine, power tools, a collection of leather and various materials and hand tools. You will need AWD in winter and your own drive to pursue your writing, art, project interests. You have autonomy within your space, woods to walk, ski, study, but you are not isolated. Our home is directly across from you and you are driving/intrepid cycling minutes away from additional creature comforts like good meals, the general store/hub of local life, concerts, community theatre, libraries. Cross country skiing/hiking/snowshoeing is out the door. Downhill skiing is less than half hour drive away. The historic, scenic Long Trail is minutes away. The New Haven River with local swimming holes and cold plunge favorites is minutes away. The space can contain two people. However, it is a cozy, functional space that was intended for inspiration and personal pursuits. you will know by reading this if it is the right fit for you. YOUR HOSTS: I, Lisa, am a designer professionally of footwear, and passionately, a designer of livable interior and exterior spaces. My partner in this venture is my cousin, Laura, who is professionally an administrator and in essence, an artist. Our mission is to create spaces for engagement with and reintegration within nature contexts. As introverts, we have interest in serious topics and some silliness, creative pursuants, literature, film, art, culture, wildlife, empathetic action, various forms of connection, oddballs, solitude.

Comments: The space is considered for ease of work, with an abundance of natural light, quiet, with woodland access and views. It is designed with considered features and a clean, but cosy aesthetic. It is a walk-up garret above a workshop that may be added.

Comments: Smoking is not allowed indoors. There is an old dog currently residing on the property. She has anxiety with other dogs, but terms could be negotiated for well-behaved pets.
One geriatric diva dog who sleeps a lot and cuddles hard. Generally not amenable to other dogs. I travel occasionally for work and there could be some rent deductions in exchange for dog care and house plant care.
