Beautiful, Spacious Home in Downtown Durham

I left higher ed in 2020 and began writing creative nonfiction, and my wife retired from HR this past year. While we love our home in Durham, we have the opportunity to live abroad, so I will get to write from Spain over the next year—or even two. We are looking for professionals, graduate students, or retirerees to rent our fully furnished home while we are living in Spain. Academics on a sabbatical leave or exchange would be a perfect match! We live right off of the American Tobacco Trail, which is a terrific walking or biking path. We are around the corner from Forest Hills Park, where I play a lot of tennis (and sometimes pickleball) and there are pick-up frisbee games. Downtown Durham is about a mile away from our house, and we can easily walk or bike to the Saturday farmer's market, local restaurants, the DPAC for shows, the Tobacco Campus for concerts, and the YMCA for workouts. Currently, we have hi-speed internet, gas/electric, central AC/heat pump, and trash/recycling. We would ask the tenant to take over the monthly bills for the utilities and internet. In addition, we currently have a security system and extermination service, which the tenant could choose to continue and pay for. We have done many home exchanges over the last few years and are comfortable leaving our home, with all of its furnishings, artwork, records, etc., in the right family's care. Our home can accomodate children, but tweens and teens are a better fit for our home than little ones.
