Central and quiet two-story apartment with a view

Description

I am a professor at Université Laval going away for an 8-month sabbatical from January to August 2027, along with my husband and child. We are looking for a person or family to live in the condo while we are away. The apartment is located in a century-old four-unit condominium building. It is built on the ground level and garden level. The apartment overlooks the cape that separates the upper town from the lower town. There are therefore no neighbours at the back. There is a view of the city in winter, and of the trees growing on the cape in summer. There is also a large balcony (which is very comfortable to work on in summer) and a green courtyard. The apartment was fully renovated in 2020. The main floor is an open concept. It includes the living room, dining room, and a very functional kitchen. There are three bedrooms on the garden level, along with the bathroom and the washer and dryer. We will store all our belongings in the smallest of the three rooms. There is a single mezzanine bed in the child's bedroom (it's possible to build it as a bunk bed for a second child), the usual furniture, and a large window. In the masters bedroom, there is a queen bed (with a 2-in-1 medium-firm or firm foam mattress), a large closet, a large window, and a door leading to the courtyard. The bedroom is very quiet at night. We are well equipped to host a family with one or two children. There are two Tripp Trapp highchairs, as well as toys, craft supplies and books if desired. The playground is 50m away. Many children play on the street, which is safe. An elementary school and a high school are a few minutes' walk away. Bikes can easily be locked up at the back of the building. We may also be able to lend our electric cargo bike (RadRunner 2) with a passenger seat. Bike paths and streets are generally rideable starting in early April. Université Laval is a 15-minute bike ride away, and the way is safe and comfortable. We would love for our two cats to be able to stay home while we're away. They are very friendly, low maintenance, fairly quiet, and used to children. We have been living here happily since 2020 and the apartment is set up accordingly. We can leave it more or less furnished/equipped depending on your needs. It's perfect for a stay of a few months in Quebec City, or as a place to land before settling in permanently. I would be happy to provide more photos or a virtual tour upon request.
