Private approximately 300 sq ft studio within a traditional Berkeley Hills home divided into separate living spaces. Available furnished or unfurnished. THE SPACE • Private studio for one adult occupant • Private entrance • Shared bathroom • Laundry in unit • High-speed internet and utilities included • Street parking • No pets and no smoking The bathroom will usually be yours. The owner/housemate will be traveling and expects to return approximately once every six weeks for medical appointments. During those brief visits, the bathroom will be shared. This is a traditional house, not a soundproof apartment building. The studio shares walls with a roommate and a ceiling with the upstairs tenant, so normal household sound may carry between spaces. HOUSE-SITTING ARRANGEMENT House-sitting mainly means providing a responsible presence and respectful care of the home; details will be discussed before agreement. The owner/housemate is recovering from surgery and has an immune disorder. Please be understanding that response times and scheduling may depend on her health and daily condition. Best suited to a considerate, communicative graduate student, PhD candidate, visiting scholar, researcher, professor, or other responsible single occupant who appreciates a creative home and respects shared spaces. Rent is $1,550 per month with a $1,550 security deposit. Utilities and internet are included. One-month minimum; flexible month-to-month availability. Single occupant only.
