A quiet place to think, write, and breathe. This is a fully furnished three-bedroom home at the end of a cul-de-sac inside Massanutten Resort, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The forest starts where the backyard ends: no through traffic, no neighbors behind you, and private access straight into the woods. It's the kind of quiet that's hard to find and harder to rent. For work. There's a dedicated desk and high-speed internet throughout the house. The setting is quiet enough that video calls, long reading days and deep focus all come easily. If you want a change of scene during the day, the screened porch and the basement both work as second offices. The house. The main floor is open and bright, with large windows facing the trees from nearly every room. The living and dining area flows into a fully equipped kitchen — oven, full-size refrigerator and freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes and everything you need to cook properly rather than reheat. The primary bedroom is on the main floor with a walk-in closet, and there are no stairs from the entry. Two more bedrooms and a bonus room downstairs mean there's space for a partner, a visiting family member, or simply a room you keep for books and papers. Downstairs, the large finished basement is yours to use however you like: a home gym, a hobby space, a second living room. It already has ping pong, foosball and a sauna. Washer and dryer are in the house. Smart TVs with Netflix and Disney+. Flat driveway and just one step up to the front door, which makes arriving with boxes, books and gear easy. Outside. Two patios, one of them screened in with a gas fire pit — good for morning coffee, an afternoon break, or the end of a long writing day. There's a grill, and trails begin right at the property line. The location. Quiet without being isolated. The grocery store is 12 minutes away. Harrisonburg is 25 minutes, with Costco, restaurants, coffee shops, a hospital, and two universities: James Madison University and Eastern Mennonite University. Bridgewater College is about 30 minutes, and the University of Virginia in Charlottesville is roughly an hour over the mountain. Shenandoah National Park is 15 minutes away, with the Skyline Drive and hundreds of miles of hiking. Luray Caverns is 30 minutes. Washington, D.C. is about two and a half hours by car, and Dulles airport two hours — close enough for a conference or a visit, far enough that nothing intrudes. Being inside the resort also means the mountain is at hand when you want it: skiing seven minutes away in winter, and the rest of the year an indoor water park, two golf courses, a spa, pools and mountain biking trails. Resort activities are paid separately and aren't included in the rent. Monthly and extended stays welcome. This is our own family's place, and we've furnished and equipped it to be lived in, not just slept in.
