Charming 2 bedrooms house in Venice

Wonderful little house spread out over three floors, reasonably sunny. Good sized rooms with a very nice master bathroom. Quiet & convenient location, walk to the train or coach stations.

My husband and I spend a month in this beautiful Venetian home in the Dorsoduro area. The location is perfect for a genuine Venetian experience without large numbers of tourists. It is in the university area and so has lots of students, young people and Italian families as well and cafes, a fresh fruit and vegetable barge and fresh fish can be bought in Campo Santa Margherita. Church bells fill the air and the 2 upstairs floors are flooded with light and the study is perfect to sit and chill out after a day walking through the lanes and alleys of Venice. The house is full of books in Italian and English so there is always something you can reference or browse through. The kitchen and house is stocked with everything you need.

This house was perfect in every way. There was room to entertain guests. The kitchen was fully equipped and the bathrooms were modern. The house was convenient to the rest of the city but tucked away in a quiet area next to stores and many ammenties. The back of the house overlooked a garden courtyard. Highly recommend.

Owner was helpful and the house looked terrific. I have/had a bad knee - I recently had total knee replacement surgery - and I thought this house might be a bit out of the way for me. When we were in venice last spring, I went looking for it, and it's totally charming, in a great area, close to San Sebastiano, the Billa supermarket, and the vaporetto. There's a flower shop close by. Walking in the other direction toward the Grand Canal, you pass a small deli type place that has fabulous fresh gnocchi, then a sweet smelling bakery further on your left. You continue walking and end up at San Barnaba after passing a handy xerox/copy place and an old book shop on your left, and several terrific restaurants along the way, especially La Bitta but others also. If we're lucky enough to return to venice, we'll definitely consider this house.
