There is a bright, huge, well-equipped live-in kitchen with a huge dining table. Giant glass doors lead to the big south-facing balcony with a perfect, unobstructed view of the Alexander Tower. The small sleep chamber in the back sleeps two people but it's tight - it works better as a toddler/kid's room and it's currently being used as a large walk-in closet. The chamber has a built-in closet under the stairs that lead up to the additional sleep loft above the bathroom. The loft is fully secured/railed in and accommodates a sleep space and a workstation. It also has a lovely big Velux window that opens up to the building's south-facing flat roof. The bathroom is a full bathroom that includes a bathtub as well as a washing machine. The apartment is in a wonderful location in the heart of the highly desirable Winsviertel in Prenzlauer Berg. We have been in this building for a quarter century. Since it consists of only a Vorderhaus without any side wings, there are only 7 different families living in this building. There is a giant EDEKA supermarket a few doors down, and the building has an elevator, so you don't need a car for shopping. There is now also a Miles car sharing station right in front of the house, however. You are a 5-minute walk from Kollwitzplatz and an 8-minute walk to Volkspark Friedrichshain in the other direction. It's 10 minutes to Alexanderplatz by tram. Humboldt University is only a 10-15 min bike ride away, the TU Berlin is about 30 min. The Strandbad at Lake Weissensee is reachable by tram in 10 minutes. The local playgrounds and parks are all wonderful, as is the shopping and dining. Several bilingual preschools and schools are located within easy walking or biking distance. Note: The rental agreement for this apartment can be flexible and we can discuss the question of furniture if you have some of your own. Right now, the apartment is set up for two young female roommates with a queen-sized bed available in the back of the loft and another sleeping mattress up in the loft.
