Beautiful San Francisco Area view home: walk to BART, shops, and university

Light-filled view home with large garden near the Oakland/Berkeley border. All rooms offer San Francisco Bay views with the exception of one bathroom (this one has a view of the huge rock formation in the front of the house). We are four blocks to College Ave. with shopping and restaurants; six blocks to buses and metro. Location: Oakland, Berkeley, Rockridge neighborhood, San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA. From our home it is one hour to Stinson Beach, and twenty minutes to kayaking on the Bay. It is a 3-4 hour drive to Lake Tahoe and the Sierras. The University of California is a short bike ride away, or about a 25 minute walk. There is also a bus line which runs down College Avenue to campus. Stanford is an hour's drive away. San Francisco State University is about a 35 minute drive. BART, our metro system is about a 10 minute walk from our home. Accommodations: There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms available, each with two queen size beds. One bathroom has a shower stall, the other a bathtub with hand-held shower. The Wedgewood stove in the kitchen has been restored; there is a full set of dinnerware and flatware, plus a KitchenAid mixer and other cooking tools. An upright piano is in the living room. This is an early 1920's home, one of the original homes built in this neighborhood. There are hardwood floors throughout and several charming areas for outdoor dining. Street parking is unrestricted and plentiful. Wireless internet and Apple TV are included. San Francisco International Airport is on a direct line from the Rockridge BART station. The bedrooms and bathrooms are on the second floor and there are steps from street level to home. Also on the second floor is my home office which has French doors opening onto a balcony with views of San Francisco. We have converted the upper level of the free standing garage into a small home gym with spin bike, TRX, weight bench and free weights, etc. The laundry is located in the free standing garage lower level. The garden is terraced and we have a regular gardener. We have a lovely cleaning person who comes bi-monthly. More information: there are steps from the street level down to the house and the garden is terraced. I prefer a maximum of two or three people who will be careful with our belongings. I love history, art, and language. For a number of years I owned a company importing greeting cards, calendars, etc. from Grenoble, France, as well as Germany and Britain. Language spoken are French and Italian (and of course, English).
