I am offering my comfortable historic Craftsman house for rent for short periods - usually from 3 days to one month.. Built in 1911, my house was included on tours for Pasadena Heritage's Craftsman Weekend in 2010, 2012 and 2014. It was also featured in the winter 2012 issue of American Bungalow magazine. The house has a large living room with craftsman furnishings, formal dining room, three bedrooms - two with queen beds and one with twin trundle beds - one full bath upstairs and one half bath (sink and toilet) downstairs (please note: under details below it says 2 baths - there's no setting for 1 1/2 baths), office, den, large yard with pool and fruit trees. Close to universities, museums, shopping and restaurants. Ideal for one or two couples or a family. Especially convenient for the Huntington Library. Caltech, Occidental College and JPL, and not far from USC. Pasadena is a wonderful destination on its own, and a great base to explore the rest of the LA area. There are several vibrant shopping and dining areas nearby, including historic Old Town Pasadena. The Huntington Library, Norton Simon Museum and the Pacific Asia Museum are right in Pasadena, and the Getty Museum, the Broad, the Hammer, MOCA, LACMA and other museums are located in other parts of LA. Hollywood and downtown LA are only 20-30 minutes away by car or metro, and hiking in the San Gabriel Mountains is a 10 minute drive away. The Huntington Library is just minutes from my home by car, or a short bike ride (I can usually provide bikes). For years I have rented my house once or twice a year to scholars coming to the Huntington on research fellowships or to work or study at other institutions in LA. This is my primary home; I stay at my mountain cabin or travel when I have guests. I also own a cozy rustic cabin in the mountains an hour and a half from Pasadena, which could be made available to visitors.
