I am currently spending some terms in Paris, and renting my own apartment in Rome to cover the expenses. The apartment has been recently renovated: the kitchen, the bathroom and the bedroom are brand new, and the entire flat has been repainted.* The apartment is in the Aventino hill, which is one of the most beautiful parts of the city center, a green area with parks and monasteries. It is a perfect position for a quiet stay and a study retreat. It is however at 5 min. walking distance from Testaccio, the popular neighborhood with the open-air market, restaurants and nightlife; 15 min. walking distance from Trastevere; and a similar amount from Piazza Venezia and the Corso. It is also very well connected with public transport. The FAO and the Università Roma Tre are really close, and the John Cabot University or "La Sapienza" are immediately connected with a bus and the Metro. The building has two entrances, in both via Sant'Anselmo (closer to the parks) and via Nerini (closer to Testaccio). The apartment is about 85 sqm, and has a large entrance and living room, with dining table and sofa; a huge bedroom/study with a king size bed, and two desks in front of the two windows, facing a quiet private street; a further bedroom with single bed that can be opened into a king-size, and a desk at the window; kitchen and bathroom. The apartment is completely furnished -- as I use to live in it, you'll find with some of my stuff (books, cds, etc.). There are some pieces of modern design (like the table or the sofa), and other customized furniture in wood. My mother lives in the same building, and may be helpful in case of need.
