Our beautiful and newly designed apartment, located in the sought-after Thousand Oaks neighborhood of Berkeley, is an ideal location for the individual scholar or couple visiting the Bay Area and looking for maximum comfort and convenience. With a design inspired by the great ocean liner “Normandie,” the apartment has the look of a first class suite of rooms created for a voyage of comfort. Located a few minutes from the shops and restaurants of Solano Avenue, it is equally close to public transportation (the apartment is two blocks from the San Francisco express bus, and to the bus line going directly to the University of California at Berkeley, as well as to downtown Berkeley and Oakland) and the many recreational and cultural activities Berkeley can offer its visitors. It is also an easy bike ride to campus on Berkeley's newly bike-friendly streets. The renowned “gourmet ghetto,” featuring such iconic restaurants as Chez Panisse, is nearby, as are more than forty other institutions of higher learning in the Bay Area. San Francisco and Oakland, with its burgeoning food and music scene, are accessible in minutes by auto or Bay Area Rapid Transit. Our location is also a great jumping off point for nearby attractions like Marin County, including the Golden Gate National Seashore; the wine growing regions of Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino; the magnificent coastline of Northern California, from Big Sur to the giant redwoods; the Peninsula, including Stanford University and Silicon Valley; the Sierra Nevada mountain range and Mother Lode country; and a myriad of other sites, known and unknown. The one bedroom apartment features an updated and completely furnished kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher and utensils for cooking, a clothes washer and dryer, and is provided with high quality linens. The queen-sized mattress is of excellent quality, the furniture comfortable and attractive, and there is multi-channel access on the flat screen television, a high quality stereo, and wireless computer service. We’re proud of our collection of artwork on display in the apartment, as well as the many books, DVDs and CDs we have left for our tenants. Our apartment is available for stays of four days to several months.
