2BR, 1.5BA apt in Heidelberg Altstadt

We enjoyed this beautiful Heidelberg apartment for 5 months. It was clean, beautifully furnished, and well equipped when we arrived. The Owner was great! He responded promptly to emails and provided all the information we needed. The local host in Heidelberg was excellent, responding immediately to any questions or issues. Friendly, kind, and helpful.

The apartment is spacious, with lots of natural lighting. We loved the tall windows -- with excellent views of the Neckar river and the hills surrounding Heidelberg. The location in old town was very convenient: 2 min. walk to grocery, 10 min. to great hiking, 5-10 min. to castle, and an abundance of restaurants and shops for any needs. Wonderful place!

We had three wonderful months in Heidelberg between February-April 2018, and the experience was made even more memorable by this great apartment. In her earlier review, Laura describes the place just as we would describe it. Spacious, airy, atmospheric, great views, and the most excellent location. I appreciated the spare room I could use as a perfect study, as well as the underground parking, and the locked area for bikes. Stepping out into the old town was a treat which never faded. Organising with John was simple, fast, and courteous; and his on-the-spot "guardian" was there waiting to greet us, helped with all our questions, and always on-hand, with a smile, to help. Conclusion is simple: recommended without hesitation!

I am so happy to provide a reference for John Deni and a review of his flat in Heidelberg. My husband and I spent a glorious half-year living in Heidelberg. The flat is perfectly situated so that one is able to walk easily to points within the old city to shop, sightsee or get to parts of the campus. While it’s very close to the hopping parts of the city, it’s enough removed so that noise is not an issue. For shopping, we were less than a city block to the city market for some groceries and also within walking or biking distance of the larger markets. The train in the Altstadt Heidelberg is about a mile away and very convenient as well. We loved everything about the flat. Mostly, you’ll find the natural light that spills into the living and dining room spaces as well as the view of the river and the mountain across the river, will set your mood right from the moment you wake up until bed time. The main bedroom has a very comfortable and large bed and plenty of storage space in the armoire and dresser. The second bedroom was a perfect office for my husband, who spent his time there mostly writing and thinking big thoughts. The guest bed, which is also a sofa when not used as a bed, is comfortable. The kitchen is spacious with plenty of storage and nicely equipped with cooking pots and pans as well as plates and utensils. We did a lot of eating out while we were there. Mosch Mosch was our favorite place and a five-minute walk from the flat. Adelitas actually makes a pretty good taco as well. Everything in the flat is clean and orderly. It is not at all cluttered. John made every effort to leave the spaces open for your own things. That was nice. You won’t find a better landlord (although I don’t think that word is fitting as John feels more like a friend to us) and in the event that something isn’t working, which is rare, it is remedied right away. We loved living in the flat and in Heidelberg and look forward to the day we can return again. Laura
