On Monday January 23 my wife and I signed a lease to rent a house owned by Michael. Soon after we asked him to remove the utensils out of the kitchen. We told him we preferred to use our own utensils in conformity with our tradition.He became furious. He said that we should have told him of our religious observance before we signed the lease. I went to my bank and put a stop payment on the check I had issued. He mouthed anger and an imprecation.

In his description of our altercation in these pages he says “This is entirely about a bad check.”sic. This is a primitive and deceitful attempt to cover over his hateful behavior.

We had the best time at Mike and Chaty's lovely house, in a beautiful quiet side street just a few blocks away from the charming gourmet district in Berkeley and from Berkeley campus. As a family, we also appreciated the nearness to various schools and playgrounds, which made logistics very easy. The house is infused in a very warm atmosphere:) all windows overlook trees and from the patio you have a clear view of the bay and hills. The space is very well organized, with plenty of places to set up a working corner. Kitchen is exceptionally well furnished. M & K have assisted us in various ways and have been wonderful hosts throughout. Our stay has been delightful, and we very much look forward to be back!

It was a pleasure to stay here. The house is in great condition and well furnished, and the location is excellent. It will be a pleasure to stay here again.
