We are a retired couple looking for a 1-2 bedroom apartment available or 2-3 months (for rent or housesit) in any warm-ish southern European city. I am a writer (mostly food) and (retired) antiques dealer. My husband is a retired photojournalist. We traveled extensively, prior to settling down to raise a family. Now that the kids have flown the coop, we are ready to resume our travels. I plan to keep a blog about traveling post-retirement. He will provide the photos. My favorite cities are Paris and Barcelona. We love the small New England city of Providence, R.I. It's eclectic, artsy and there is a great food scene. We prefer an urban setting, mostly because it's easier to get around (with public transport) and there tends to be more to do and see. Favorite adventure? Going to Cuba (before it was open to the USA) or maybe Guilin, China (and a long love affair with France of course.) Ideally, we would be able to occasionally host a guest. Our dates are somewhat flexible. Our budget is modest ($1500-2,000/Month.) We are excellent tenants and have excellent references. We will treat your home as if it is our own.

Our ideal arrangement would be to rent from someone who uses their apartment a few times a year, at which time we would travel and see another part of France. Favorite adventure (so far?) Going to Cuba (before it was open to the USA) or maybe Guilin, China. We hope to find a place to spend the coldest winter months. Maybe it would turn into a regular rental after that, for a few months a year. Our budget is modest but we are excellent tenets and can provide impeccable references. We hope to find something for $1500/Month.
