Description
I am a former academic, living in the Washington DC area, and now consulting in higher ed. Since I have more flexibility with my time and location, I am looking for a small-ish house or apartment in Burlington, on campus or off, I especially like the Old North End, or nearby communities, like Shelburne, Winooski, Waterbury, or Montpelier. I have relatives in the area, and an adult child, recent grad of UVM, and plan on enjoying the outdoors, while working on a few writing projects. My academic background is in the humanities (art and archaeology) and in preservation. If you are leaving your home and library, you couldn't find a better tenant to care for them. For me, this is an exploratory time, to look around for longer-term rental or purchase options. I am super-capable and responsible, and would be happy to take care of your house, garden, and/or pets, fix things, and collect and forward mail. I am also friendly, nice, and flexible and I think we can work anything out!

About Me
Currently working as a consultant in higher ed, I have an academic background in archaeology and languages (ancient, modern, and endangered). In my early career years, I did field research in Italy and Spain, in my later years, I was a federal funder in the arts and humanities in Washington DC. At this juncture, and with more freedom to make choices about jobs and locations, I would like to return to roots in New England, and look forward to spending time there, especially in small-town, rural Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, or Massachusetts for short or longer-term rental. As a homeowner myself, I am responsible and capable in household management and would happily take on house and pet-sitting, property management, etc. I am a cheerful, flexible, easy-going lover of nature, art, music, and literature, and would responsibly care for your home and property.
