I am a retired professor of History and African and African-American Studies. Some years ago I had a Fulbright Grant to teach in Brazil. I truly enjoyed the experience. Every year I have been going back for half a year. Now I plan to go permanently. My "Brazilian Family" is awaiting me. One of my cousins has already bought two condos in Brazil. For my part, I plan to write and to go to the beach in beautiful Salvador da Bahia. Currently engaged in a writing project on the American Revolution and its impact on the lands to the south in the fifty years following. Blast waves went all the way through the Caribbean and beyond. We ended up with free Haiti and the creation of Alabama and Mississippi. I am tracing the swashbuckling career of a one-eyed British marine, Edward "Fighting" Nicolls, throughout the turbulent and revolutionary period. I have spent my last winter in Boston.
