Professional ISO comfortable 1-2 bdr apt near college town, hikes & nephews

Warm greetings! I’m searching for a comfortable 1-2 bedroom apartment, tiny house or cottage in the area (between Northampton & Greenfield, MA) to stay this summer to be close to my brother & nephews while I work remotely. I’m an avid hiker/backpcker, biker & runner, an art & music lover, a seeker of adventures big & small/ close & far, and a doting auntie. I'm an independent consultant, mainly supporting organizations and foundations who working for a clean, renewably powered, and democratically governed country. My laptop is my office, which means my office can be just about anywhere (that there is a strong internet connection). I've lived in Washington DC for two decades, where I own my own condo (that’s getting a facelift this summer) and have a sweet community garden plot. I have resided up and down the Eastern seaboard from Florida to Maine, but New England is where I feel most home. I’m hoping to spend the summer closer to my nephews before they're too big to realize I'm not as cool as they think I am (admittedly I may already be too late). I’m also toying with the idea of permanently moving closer or figuring out a recurring summer rental in the area. My dream place would be a small house or spacious apartment in a college town with a porch/ patio and a small yard, in walking distance to coffee shops or other spaces to haul my laptop, and relatively easy access to hiking/ biking/ running spots. I travel light & am incredibly tidy. I’m easy on furniture & floors, and don’t wear shoes in the house. I'm a non-smoker (of anything). And I'm reliably communicative. I’m exciting to lovingly occupy a wonderful place for the summer!
