Family friendly home close to NBER

Description

We're a Norwegian family of four looking for a child-friendly home within a comfortable bike ride (up to 20-30 min) of NBER in Cambridge, MA, for roughly 3 months this fall - Aug 28 to early December 2026. We're open to Cambridge, Watertown, Somerville, Arlington, Belmont, or Jamaica Plain. I (Thea) am an economist at Skatteforsk – Norwegian Centre for Tax Research, specializing in taxation, tax evasion, and illicit financial flows, and will be visiting the National Bureau of Economic Research during our stay. My husband Hilmar is an industrial designer designing workwear for Helly Hansen, currently on paternity leave with our youngest. His name is Jo and he's busy learning to walk, and else enjoys attention from his big brother and putting stuff into boxes and bags (among other things). Tellef is 3 years old, loves running, biking and reading. He's is eager to test his killer T-rex imitation at the Museum of Science. We're social, easy-going, and love being active outdoors - hiking, running, biking, skiing - as well as creative pursuits like music, handcrafts, and drawing. This will be our full-time home during the stay, and we'd love a place close to parks and playgrounds. We're quiet, reliable tenants who take good care of our surroundings. We enjoy practical work and can help out with anything from gardening and other practicalities to pet and plant care. I'm new to SabbaticalHomes but will be happy to share other references (such as reviews from Airbnb or earlier landlords) upon request.
