Hello! I am a PhD Candidate from Munich, Germany, finishing up my program with the support of a remote dissertation writing award. My research at the University of Delaware examines women artists in apartheid South Africa. As my graduate stipend does not allow for market rate rent, I am hoping to find a house-sitting or low-cost arrangement in exchange for dependable care of your home. I am looking for a private, quiet space in the Triangle, ideally a room with good natural light. This summer, I am house-sitting for a Duke professor, who is glad to serve as a reference. I am organized and take pride in keeping a space clean and well-maintained. I am happy to water plants, tend a garden, collect mail, and generally make sure your home is looked after while you are away. You would have peace of mind knowing your home is in safe hands, and I would have a stable, peaceful environment to finish this important stage of my academic journey. I am looking for housing from August 8, 2026 through May 31, 2027, though I am open to shorter stays aligned with academic semesters. I would love to connect! Cheers, Claudia

Hi, I am an art historian and non-practising medical doctor from Europe, born and raised in Munich, Germany. I am a quiet and tidy tenant who treats your home with care and respect. I enjoy scenic hikes, reading poetry, and visiting museums. My research focuses on twentieth-century arts of Africa, especially women artists. I was a Smithsonian Institution Fellow at the National Museum of African Art in 2025-26. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Art History at the University of Delaware, expecting to complete my dissertation in spring 2027. Previously, I earned a Master's degree in Art History from Duke University, a Magister degree in Art History from the University of Vienna, and an MD from the K.-F. University of Graz.
