About Me
I am a postdoctoral researcher and film curator based in Berlin. I studied History, Film Studies, and Islamic Studies in Egypt and Germany, and currently serve as the Artistic Director of ALFILM – Arab Film Festival Berlin. My research interetsts include Arab cinema, sexuality, queerness, secularism and racism in Europe. In my free time, I enjoy reading, working out, watching films, and exploring new restaurants. I have traveled to more than 30 countries and enjoy meeting people from different cultures. I will be moving to Toronto in September for a two-year postdoctoral position at the University of Toronto. I am looking for a comfortable, quiet, and welcoming place to call home during this exciting new chapter.
