I am a professor of Science, Technology, and Society at Virginia Tech. I will be a visiting fellow at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, working on a book on the history of The Magic School Bus. I will also have an office in Ballston. I will be traveling solo for a few ~1-month stays in the 2026-2027 academic year. The first stay will be from August 23 to Sept. 18. I am a little flexible in my start and end dates. I'm looking for anywhere along the Orange and Silver Line in Arlington or central DC (Foggy Bottom, Chinatown, Capitol Hill close to the Mall, etc.) I am planning to travel by train, but might bring a car if there is a garage spot. I am happy to take care of plants and mail. I am a lover of cats, but I will likely travel home on a couple weekends to visit my family so that might be an issue in a cat sitter coverage situation. I am quiet, conscientious, and responsible and have successfully matched on Sabbatical Homes in the past.
