Looking for pet-friendly place for fiance and I near UC Berkeley or area

Hi! My name is Oliver. I am finishing up my PhD at UC Berkeley in the environmental science department in December. I am also looking to start a company in the area after I finish. I would like to be somewhat around UC Berkeley or the surrounding area from just before Sept 1, 2026 through the year and a bit into 2027 if possible. Dates are flexible. My fiance, Hannah, is a UI / UX designer (web designer) who works remotely doing freelance and contract work. She and I met in the Bay Area some years ago but we are both actually originally from Maryland. We are both very positive and love to meet and talk with people. We also both love animals. We have a 30 pound, 12 year old Beagle-Dachshund mix named Bugsy that loves everyone and everyone loves him. He is turning 13 soon so he sleeps a lot. I have actually been doing the last 2 years of my PhD program remotely while Hannah, Bugsy, and I have been full time traveling in our truck camper. We have lived in southern California, the Southwest in general, Maine, and the Florida Keys over the last couple of years. Since I am finishing my PhD program and starting a company afterwards, I need to be around UC Berkeley for these next few months. We can be flexible about what works exactly but, ideally, we would like to have an entire place - studio, 1 bedroom apartment, cottage, guest house, etc etc. We are also flexible about what we could provide or offer that could be a positive in the arrangement (eg pet sitting, assisting in outdoor work, etc).
