Looking for charming studio or one-bedroom in Madrid, Centro.

I would prefer a place in Lavapiés or La Latina, though other central neighborhoods such as Sol, Chueca and Malasaña would also work. Now that I have retired from my job as a college professor, I have time to continue with my creative, scholarly and translation projects. I´ve lived in Madrid for long periods many years ago and I would like to reacquaint myself with this vibrant and cosmopolitan city I´ve always loved in the hopes of spending long periods there in the near future. I´m very fortunate to have a lovely community of very close friends in the city, and family in Sevilla and Barcelona whom I could regularly visit. I find Madrid´s varied cultural and gastronomic offerings, as well as its beautiful architecture particularly attractive. I´ve never felt like a tourist in Spain, for I share a culture and a language which are an important part of who I am. Just a few things about me: I was born and raised in NYC to Spanish immigrant parents, completed a PhD in Hispanic literatures at Princeton University, and published literary criticism and translations. I am completely bilingual and I feel at home in both Spanish and English.
