Description
I'm looking for a place to stay while I set up in Padova. I have recently accepted a job at the university, and I will be moving from abroad. I am looking for somewhere semi or fully furnished for 2-12 months from sometime in January 2027 to give me time to look for a more permant accomodation solution. My dates are flexible. I'm 42 and an archaeoloigst. I grew up in the US, but have spent my academic career across the UK, Germany, Italy and now northern Ireland. I am clean and tidy, and can provide references from recent accomodation. I am looking for a flat just for myself. I am non-smoking and don't have pets. My research focuses on ancient food and farming. My current project investigates how farming changed with the Roman expansion in Italy and its political and economic consolidation into empire. My work combines the study of material remains, ancient biomolecules and landscapes to investigate the nexus between agriculture, land use and society. I am an expert in the study of animal bones from archaeological sites. I have 20 years of archaeological fieldwork experience in Italy and have collaborated on projects from the Veneto to Siciliy, so I am looking forward to moving to Padova. About Me
Hi! I a Lecturer in Archaeological Science in Belfast, soon to be moving to the University of Padova. My research focuses on human-animal relationships in the past, addressing the interplay between socio-political organisation, environmental exploitation, and animal economies. I study the material remains of ancient animals to reconstruct their management and use a suite of biomolecular approaches to address questions on mobility and feeding patterns. I have worked extensively on Etruscan and Roman Italy across much of the country. I'm originally from the US, but my studies and academic career have taken me from the UK to Germany to Italy and Northern Ireland. I am an experienced and respectful flat- and home-sharer. I find it easier to think and work in a tidy space! I have a long history of working across Italy and am looking forward to making it my permant home and benefitting from the relationships and collaborations that come from being embedded in place.
