The CANAL SAINT MARTIN area is where Parisians come to chill at waterfront cafés and interesting restaurants. While you're here, why not hire a bike for the day and CYCLE along the towpath to the medieval town of Meaux, to taste the world-famous BRIE (which gets its name from there : the cheese's full name is 'Brie de Meaux'). The town also has a beautiful cathedral and episcopal palace. This secret museum lies within the grounds of the Hôpital Saint-Louis and holds a collection of 5,000 wax moldings of dermatological diseases from the 19th century. It's so quirky that the museum was listed as an historic monument.
