My wife was offered a position as visiting scholar at Yale. Bringing the whole family (three kids) from Norway to the U.S. required some planning. Luckily, we found a perfect house in a perfect location through SabbaticalHomes.com. We even made friends with the owners, and hope to keep in touch with them in the future.
